 Ponies Horses
Ponies are sturdy working animals whose breeds have been created all over the world, especially in cold climates. It is suggested that ponies, especially those in Europe, might have descended from the “draft” subspecies of Equus ferus. They are particularly strong for their size and can thrive on a more limited diet than regular-sized horses. Some breeds can pull as much weight as a draft horse, and others can carry a full-sized adult rider. They range in size from 12.2 hands high to 14.2 hands high. When ponies are trained by experienced people, they turn out to be sweet tempered animals. If an inexperienced trainer is in charge, ponies can turn out to be rather mean spirited.
